This level of conflict of interest is massively unsurprising.

This is horrifying. The worst of Chicago politics migrated south to St. Louis.

Extremely. While we think of Chicago and New York as the most corrupt, we tend to forget our own local politics. This problem is wide spread in every city/county/state.

There is no way to escape it until we all become aware of this problem. And then when we are aware, we have to organize and attack the problem by its roots.

But exactly how do we do that?

We all talk about some grand plan of doing something about all this shit that has been happening, but has anyone actually put into practice what we have been saying we shouldbe doing?

Has anyone taken steps to prevent this? Has anyone actually bothered themselves to get up and start a movement? If they have, it’s been shut down real quick or not very well spread.

What I’m trying to get across is that we have to actually come together and get ideas going so that we can actually put a stop to this bullshit rather than just say we need to do it, and make sure the message is clear and publicized.

It’s like young kids dreaming of doing wild and imaginative things but never actually taking time to ask for help to make sure they can get there.

So what will we do?
That’s for you guys to decide.

No one’s talking about a grand plan. No “grand plan” is going to solve this issue as there are several levels to solving this problem

I can only speak about what I have done in MY city as I am focused on my specific city.

Steps to prevent this? Educate your peers about the government, how it works, how bills become laws, attending town hall meetings, attending counselman meetings, create neighborhood meetings, understand the law by city, county and state, educate them on parties and the people who are running for office, educate them on the voting and work related history of the person running for office, teach them how funding works in campaigns, teach them how funding works locally, help them understand who gets elected and who is chosen by a superior etc I can keep going on. However as you realize it is extensive and you will need a large group of people to engage within your own city.

Go to your local voting commitee building, collect all of the needed material for voting as in rules, locations, registration and the names of folks who are registered. Go house to house to get them registered.

Next you have to get the community involved after you educate them. How do you get them involved? It all depends on location, class, finances, educational background, and their general background. Have you ever organized any event related to political issues such as police officers, politicians etc? It is no where near easy and it takes time. It is not just simply creating a facebook event or a twitter hashtag. I have been to over four rallies within the last month. You want to know who were there? The same exact people that were there at every other rally. I and several others physically took to the streets to talk to folks in the hood, in the suburbs and in the middle class neighborhoods. We reached out to every demographic possible and a month later, we still are no where near our goal.

I have seen several folks on tumblr and twitter start a movement and get the ball rolling. Yes we have gotten our ass up and yes we have started a movement. Can we say the same for you or are you up to starting that movement in your respective city? Are you involved in your local movements? Or do you know of any movements in your city? I am not on tumblr just posting out my ass saying what we should do cuz I am actually doing it. I can post the pictures, videos and articles about what I and others are doing in my city.

This shit aint for hype on a blog. What I am doing is telling people to get shit crackin in their cities.

If you think these “young kids” are “dreaming of doing wild and imaginative things but never actually taking time to ask for help to make sure they can get there” then you arent paying attention to what is going on around the country. Just because it is not publicized or reblogged on Tumblr doesnt mean we arent out here pushing for shit to change. We have been and continue to organize. However we cannot just jump in and off the back start marching with our signs singing and chanting. If you have organized anything, you would understand that it takes time to organize properly

So what will YOU do is the real question

St Louis 10/12/2014

I wasn’t aware that a single picture represented everyone involved for the whole duration of the protest.

You need to get real.

Im sure you also aren’t aware of the hundreds of pictures , vines and about 7 livestreams that recorded the incident at different angles

This October, thousands of people are going to be wearing pink shirts, ribbons, bracelets, headbands, etc. for Breast Cancer Awareness. However, October isn’t just Breast Cancer Awareness Month! October is the month to spread awareness for:
AIDS
Spina Bifida
Down Syndrome
Celiac Disease
Selective Mutism
Bullying Prevention
Breast Cancer Awareness
Rett Syndrome
Lupus
Domestic Violence
Unfortunately, many of these awarenesses are overshadowed by the commercialism of Breast Cancer Awareness. While awarenesses shouldn’t be competitive, I am here to remind everyone that other awarenesses exist and should be supported!
Don’t just go pink!

Signal boost!

We can spread the word!
We can raise awareness for awarenesses!
WE CAN DO THIS!
