Members of the Asian American community at UC Davis are taking a stand in solidarity with the people of Ferguson and their continued struggle for survival in the face of police brutality. All black lives matter.
These are American citizens standing on a quiet suburban street with fucking incendiary devices rolling down on them. Smoke filling, just surrounding their oak trees, wafting passed their bedroom windows where their children are sleeping in cribs. Would you put up with that? Would you tolerate that? What if it happened right here, right now would we tolerate this? We label these little cities and go, “oh, here’s an event. This is an event that’s gonna begin and it’s gonna end, and there’s an incident going on.”
We keep calling them “incidents” but the police aren’t calling them “incidents” because the POLICE DON’T RENT TANKS for the moment. THEY ACQUIRE THEM gradually, and they’re equipped for this. And more and more and more every single police force is getting more and more military equipment as we go. They’re prepared for this stuff. And it’s NOT going to stop. The noose never loosens, it keeps tightening.
So when you’re looking at live footage of a city in your country where people are being ASSAULTED by the police - side with the people.

At a deposition, Ferguson’s former police chief revealed that his staff did not keep records of incidents in which officers used force against citizens, so long as no one died; in other words, there was no way of telling how often incidents like Davis’ happened.
remember shit like this when they talk about how mike brown’s shooter had no disciplinary record
Voter ID requirements began after the Bush-Gore election. After that mess, you really think we didn't need to make a change? Non-citizens were voting in California and homeless people were bribed to vote, among other accounts of fraud. I don't know what about that election makes you think the system "wasn't broken" but if you would like to tell me about how flawless it was, go ahead.
It was never a flawless system.
- Grossly unequal distribution of campaign resources
- Unequal voting power depending on where you live
- Looking at the Numbers: Minority Rules
- The winner-take-all method of distributing electoral votes
- Unbound electors
- House of Representatives can choose the president
- Enforcement of a two-party system
- Presidency can be won without a majority of the popular vote
But what did Congress focused on?
I can’t hear you. WHAT they focus on? What was the major news story? WHAT was it? I can’t hear you?!?!??!
Haha you actually think cops are "upper middle class"? They make like $80k a year tops. that might as well be nothing..how poor are you?
TUESDAY 8/19: Ferguson PD presented a table full of fabricated evidence at this morning’s press conference - allegedly seized from protestors and stopped cars. The Colt 45 Molotov with a white bandana was the crowning glory, turns out you can’t even buy glass 40’s in Missouri. Stay classy, FPD
I seriously think white supremacist are coming in the area to frame the protesters, but it could just be the cops
Colt 45 Molotov cocktail? What’s next, a watermelon incendiary bomb? A fried chicken pipe bomb? These jokers can’t even frame folks without their racism showing.
Here’s an article talking about the ban on glass 40s in St Louis and the surrounding areas, btw.
The people coming into Ferguson provoking violence against local protesters, be they opportunist wannabe radicals treating it like a revolutionary fantasy camp or police-planted provocateurs, are horrid and very real.
Never ever ever ever ever forget that the violence being directed at this community is being unilaterally instigated by police in an effort to enforce systematic white supremacy. Do not be distracted by the excuses authorities try to make for themselves.
Reblogging for the link and commentary.
If you’re protesting abortion, the Supreme Court says you can get right in women’s faces and scream at them on their way into the clinic. Because freedom of speech.
But if you try and protest the murder of a black man, you get tear gas fired at you.
